United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability
Mike Gourley -National President Disabled Persons Assembly, and is currently employed with SPARC (Sports and Recreation, New Zealand) as Senior Advisor for People with Disabilities.
Mike was involved in the process as part of the New Zealand Delegation for developing an agreed text at the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability. He will talk to what the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability would mean for disabled people in New Zealand.

What are the secrets to Working Well With Volunteers and establishing an effective volunteer programme? What works, what doesn’t? Come along and listen to experienced, interesting speakers that will share how they have worked well with volunteers.
· Louis Smith from Porirua Healthlinks Trust provides vision and leadership for community groups and volunteers involved in Creekfest, Porirua’s highly successful health and culture festival.
· Jonathon Kennett, Project Manager, Otari Wilton Bush Conservation Project and Makara Peak Mountain Bike Project has worked for 10 years with volunteer groups where he has combined recreation and conservation. Find out how he supports volunteers to learn, work and have fun on the job.
