Welcome to the Porirua Health Information Community Service (phics)

"PHICS aims to integrate telephone and web technologies with community communication methods and utilise these to heighten community awareness of all aspects of health in our community" Porirua Healthlinks Trust   PHICS is the product of many years of collaboration, consultation, planning and discussions driven by members of the community, health providers, planners and community leaders who came together to define a vision for improved health outcomes in our Porirua city.  Led by the Porirua Healthlinks Trust, the discussions identified the need to: v       provide easy access to health information; v       provide answers to the many questions we often have about the services available in our city; v       contribute to the improvement of health outcomes through timely accurate and accessible information.   PHICS has its roots in the Porirua communities.   With the assistance from the Ministry of Health and Capital & Coast District Health Board, PHICS has now been working since October 2004.   What does PHICS provide? v       information about providers of health and community services; v       how you can access these services and their costs v       upcoming Community Health Events v       health news updates through PHICSWeb and the Kapi Mana newspaper v       dates and venues for ommunity forums, fono and hui & information about how you can have your say v       free subscription to AllPoints Bulletin - have it sent to your email address automically   I don't have access to the web at home, is there a telephone service?
